At the origin of human habitats, primitive fire gathered dozens of individuals around a shared flame, structuring social life, the transmission of knowledge, and the emergence of human culture. Industrialization fragmented this hearth, gradually erasing fire's unifying power. Its two social heirs, the celebration and the evening gathering, followed opposite trajectories: the former took root in bars and festivals, while the latter saw its spaces disappear, scattered into a thousand formats that fragment what was once a shared moment. La Source proposes to reinvent the evening gathering within third-places. By inviting people to sit in a circle or take a place on the floor, the project seeks to break the formal posture typically adopted in these spaces to recreate a local commons—a suspended in-between where bodies come together.
